Overview

  • More than 3,000 Airbus fitters and engineers backed industrial action by about 90% in a ballot, according to Unite.
  • Two-day walkouts are scheduled for September 2–3 and 10–11, with additional strike days from September 15 based on site shift patterns.
  • The action targets Broughton and Filton, where wings are produced for A320, A330, A350 and A400M programmes central to Airbus’s supply chain.
  • Airbus says it does not currently expect an impact on year-end deliveries and cites a 2025 offer it calls competitive, including pay rises exceeding 20% over three years and a £2,644 April bonus.
  • Unite frames the dispute around rising living costs, pointing to UK inflation at 3.8% in July, and says it remains ready to negotiate.
