Airbus UK Strikes Paused After Unite Secures Improved Pay and Pensions Offer

Members vote 12–19 September on the proposal, with 23–24 September reserved for walkouts only if they reject the deal.

Overview

  • Unite postponed all September industrial action as a goodwill gesture following further negotiations with Airbus.
  • The union had planned 10 days of walkouts from 2 September at the Filton site near Bristol and the Broughton plant in North Wales.
  • More than 3,000 aircraft fitters and engineers will be balloted on an improved pay and pensions package.
  • If members reject the offer, strikes are scheduled to take place on 23 and 24 September.
  • Broughton builds wings for Airbus commercial aircraft and Filton undertakes engineering, design and testing work in the UK.
