Airbus Sticks to 2025 Targets After Nine-Month Update, Trims A220 Ramp Plan

The planemaker kept its 2025 guidance contingent on stable external conditions.

Overview

  • Airbus delivered 507 commercial jets through September and says it remains on track for about 820 in 2025, with handovers weighted to year-end.
  • Nine-month revenue reached €47.4 billion with adjusted EBIT about €4.1 billion, while free cash flow before customer financing was negative €0.9 billion.
  • Commercial order momentum cooled to 610 gross and 514 net aircraft year to date, yet the backlog stood at 8,665 jets at end-September.
  • The company cut its A220 ramp target to 12 per month in 2026 from 14 previously and reaffirmed plans for A320 at 75 per month by 2027, A350 at 12 per month by 2028, and A330 at 5 per month by 2029.
  • Cash buffers narrowed to €21.3 billion gross and €7 billion net, and Airbus reported strong Helicopters revenue growth and higher Defence & Space sales despite lower defence orders.
