Overview
- The service will begin on 14 November 2025 with four weekly flights from Kuala Lumpur International to Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen
- Flights will be operated with Airbus A330-300 aircraft as part of the carrier’s medium-haul long-range network
- The service marks AirAsia X’s first Turkish link and its long-awaited return to European markets since ending flights to London and Paris in 2012
- H. E. Emir Salim Yüksel, Turkey’s ambassador to Malaysia, said the link would strengthen tourism, trade and educational cooperation under the countries’ strategic partnership
- Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen, which connects to over 150 destinations, will serve as a transcontinental gateway without direct competition on the Kuala Lumpur corridor
