The stoppages reflect a pay standoff, with controllers seeking a 45% raise after months without increases as EANA maintains a 15% offer.

Este domingo se vivió la segunda jornada de paro del gremio de controladores aéreos Atepsa
La medida de fuerza afectará a unos 4.400 pasajeros con vuelos programados de Aerolíneas Argentinas.

Overview

  • On the second day of the staggered action, controllers halted departures nationwide during 13:00–16:00 and 19:00–22:00 windows, triggering widespread cancellations and delays.
  • Aerolíneas Argentinas reported 46 cancellations and 122 reprogrammings on Sunday affecting about 4,400 passengers, warning of knock-on delays outside the strike windows.
  • The flag carrier filed complaints to EANA and ANAC alleging ATEPSA blocked nine authorized departures, including two international flights; the union rejects the accusation and says safety is preserved.
  • Other airlines reported heavy impact and mitigation: Flybondi counted more than 7,000 affected and reprogrammed over 40 flights, JetSmart cited around 5,000 with fee‑free date changes, and LATAM reprogrammed and canceled select services.
  • Further stoppages are set for Aug. 26 (07:00–11:00, 14:00–17:00), Aug. 28 (13:00–16:00, 19:00–22:00) and Aug. 30 (13:00–16:00, 19:00–22:00), with landings and emergency, sanitary, humanitarian and State flights exempt; some outlets project total affected passengers could surpass 100,000 if the schedule continues.
