Air Serbia Flight Makes Emergency Landing After Runway Incident

The plane hit runway lights during an unusually short takeoff, causing severe damage but no injuries.

An Air Serbia flight, operated by Greek carrier Marathon Airlines, made an emergency landing in Belgrade after hitting runway lights and sustaining severe damage.
The incident occurred during takeoff when the plane attempted to take off with a shorter runway distance than usual, leading to a punctured fuselage.
There were 106 passengers on board; however, no injuries were reported despite the substantial damage to the aircraft.
The plane struggled to gain height and entered a holding pattern for about an hour before safely landing back at the Belgrade airport.
The airport was temporarily closed, and incoming flights were diverted to other airports as a result of the incident.
