Air National Guardsman Indicted for Leaking Classified Documents

Jack Teixeira indicted on six counts of willful retention and transmission of classified information for leaking sensitive documents related to national security on Discord.
Teixeira had top secret security clearance and allegedly abused it to share classified information with users he knew were not authorized to access it.
The leaked documents included details on military activities in Ukraine, U.S. spy operations, and assessments of foreign nations’ military capabilities.
If convicted on all charges, Teixeira faces up to 60 years in federal prison and $1.5 million in fines.
Teixeira will remain in jail pending trial due to concerns he poses a flight risk or could obstruct justice if released.
