Overview
- The Air Jordan 40 is the first Nike shoe to integrate full-length ZoomX foam with a full-length Zoom Strobel unit, offering 85% energy return and enhanced court responsiveness.
- Its upper blends premium leather with 360-degree webbing and incorporates design cues from seven previous Air Jordan models, from the AJ5 tongue to the AJ3 heel clip.
- Scheduled for a July 12 launch in the “The Classic” colorway at $200, the shoe will be available on jordan.com and select retailers, with Blue Suede and Dusty Rose editions following in August and September and nine more colorways planned.
- Orlando Magic’s Paolo Banchero and Atlanta Hawks’ Trae Young will debut the sneaker on court through player editions, and Banchero teased a forthcoming “Ferrari” colorway at the preview.
- Jordan Brand president Sarah Mensah says the 40th model marks a new chapter focused on innovation, excellence and style to carry the legacy into the next generation and beyond basketball.
