Air India to Shift 60 Delhi Domestic Departures to T2 on Oct. 26 With Air India Express Moving to T1

The reshuffle supports construction to expand Terminal 3’s international capacity, with measures in place to help passengers navigate the change.

Overview

  • The Air India group said the move takes effect with the winter schedule on 26 October, relocating 60 of Air India’s 180 daily domestic departures to Terminal 2 and all Air India Express domestic flights to Terminal 1.
  • All international services for Air India and Air India Express will continue to operate from Terminal 3 during the works.
  • Air India flights operating from or arriving at Terminal 2 will use four‑digit numbers beginning with 1 (AI1XXX) to clearly indicate the terminal.
  • Passengers with valid connections will receive inter‑terminal transfers between T1, T2 and T3, with through‑checked baggage moved airside, a free DIAL shuttle every 10 minutes, and buggy service for travellers with reduced mobility between T2 and T3.
  • Air India and Air India Express will notify affected customers via registered contacts and deploy additional, clearly identifiable ground staff, while advising travellers to verify flight numbers and terminal details before departure.
