Overview
- The service returns after nearly six years with four weekly flights operating on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays on Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners.
- Aircraft on the route will feature 18 flat-bed business seats and 238 economy seats, according to the airline.
- Flights will operate as AI123 (Delhi to Rome) and AI122 (Rome to Delhi) with local times published for March 25–27 and from March 29, including a 1:15 pm Delhi departure initially and an 8:50 pm Rome departure from March 29.
- Bookings are being opened progressively across Air India’s website, mobile app, airport ticketing offices, contact centres and travel agents.
- The route had been suspended since 2020 due to the pandemic and later delays from privatisation-related restructuring and wide-body constraints, with Air India and Aeroporti di Roma highlighting benefits for travel, trade and onward connectivity; Rome’s addition takes the carrier to eight European points plus three in the UK.
