Air India Kicks Off Phased International Flight Resumption From August, Full Schedule by October 1

The carrier will operate over 525 weekly services across 63 routes, balancing core route reinstatements alongside continued frequency adjustments through September.

Overview

  • From August 1 to September 30, Air India will switch its five-times-weekly AhmedabadLondon Gatwick service to a thrice-weekly AhmedabadLondon Heathrow route.
  • Core long-haul services will ramp up with 24 weekly DelhiLondon Heathrow flights reinstated from July 16, Delhi–Zurich increased to five weekly from August 1, DelhiTokyo (Haneda) returning to daily service from August 1, and DelhiSeoul (Incheon) rising to five weekly by September 1.
  • More than a dozen routes across Europe, North America, Australia and Africa will operate at reduced frequencies or remain suspended through September under the phased resumption plan.
  • Full pre-crash international operations are scheduled to resume on October 1, pending completion of DGCA-mandated inspections and additional in-house checks on all Boeing 787 aircraft.
  • Air India is proactively offering affected passengers rebooking options or full refunds as flight schedules adjust through the recovery period.
