  • Air India has released the ₹25 lakh interim payment to families of 147 deceased passengers and 19 ground victims of the June 12 crash.
  • Documentation for 52 additional claimant families has been verified, enabling phased release of the interim compensation.
  • Tata Group’s AI-171 Memorial and Welfare Trust, registered with a ₹500 crore corpus, pledges ₹1 crore ex-gratia per victim and funding to rebuild the B.J. Medical College hostel.
  • DGCA-mandated inspections of fuel control switch locking systems on Boeing 787 and 737 aircraft were completed by July 21 with no defects found.
  • The welfare trust will also provide trauma support services for first responders, medical teams and disaster relief personnel involved in rescue operations.
