Overview
- State of Mexico authorities lifted the Phase I contingency for Toluca and Santiago Tianguistenco after conditions improved, ending the temporary double restriction.
- On Saturday, Dec. 27, restrictions applied to Hologram 1 vehicles with even plate endings including 0, all Hologram 2 vehicles, and cars with foreign plates.
- The program operated from 5:00 to 22:00 across all 16 Mexico City boroughs and 18 conurbated State of Mexico municipalities, also covering the Toluca and Santiago Tianguistenco metropolitan areas.
- The city’s Atmospheric Monitoring Directorate reported “acceptable” air with moderate risk due to PM2.5, while Edomex maintained an informational Alert phase with readings of 42 and 37 µg/m³ at Xonacatlán and Calimaya stations.
- Violations carry fines of 20 to 30 UMAs (about 2,262 to 3,394 pesos), and the program is not in effect on Sunday under standard rules.
