Overview
- Base security discovered a burned vehicle on the Eglin Test and Training Range Complex during a routine patrol, and a body inside was found on Sept. 23.
- The Air Force Medical Examiner identified the deceased as Senior Airman Tamera Moniq Bolden-Cleckley, 26, a diagnostic imaging specialist assigned to the 96th Surgical Operations Squadron who joined the Air Force in 2021.
- Because the scene sits on Department of the Air Force property, the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office and 96th Security Forces turned the case over to the Air Force Office of Special Investigations for a federal inquiry.
- Eglin leaders publicly offered condolences and activated casualty-assistance, employee-assistance and chaplain services for family and base personnel while investigators continue their work.
- Officials have not released a cause of death or further details, and the case may lead to criminal, accidental or other findings as AFOSI and the service medical examiner complete their reviews.
