Air Evac Lifeteam Helicopter Crash in Oklahoma Kills Three Crew Members

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash that occurred near Hydro, Oklahoma, while the crew was returning from a patient transport mission.

Three crew members of the Air Evac Lifeteam, identified as pilot Russell Haslam, flight nurse Adam Tebben, and flight paramedic Steven Fitzgerald, were killed in a helicopter crash in Oklahoma on Saturday, January 20, 2024.
The crew was returning to their base in Weatherford, Oklahoma, after transporting a patient to Oklahoma City when the Bell 206L-3 helicopter they were aboard crashed around 11:23 p.m.
The crash occurred near Hydro, about 65 miles west of Oklahoma City.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is investigating the cause of the crash.
Air Evac Lifeteam operates more than 150 helicopter air ambulances in 18 states, with crews consisting of a pilot, a flight nurse, and a flight paramedic.
