Overview

• The centre opened on August 11 in Banjara Hills with four operating rooms, 34 dialysis stations and advanced robotic surgical suites.
• It houses eight centres of excellence covering sub-specialities including female urology, uro-oncology and robotic surgery, paediatric urology, reconstructive urology and andrology.
• Mallikarjuna, AINU’s managing director, noted that prostate cancer is now the second most common cancer among Indian men—growing 2.5% annually—and that 50–60% of men over 60 suffer benign prostatic enlargement.
• Dedicated specialist teams perform repeat sub-speciality procedures to accelerate operations, reduce complications and contain patient costs.
• The expansion responds to a rising national burden of urological diseases driven by hypertension, obesity, diabetes and increased life expectancy.
