AIMIM Unveils First 32 Bihar Seats as It Mounts 100-Seat Push

The move positions Asaduddin Owaisi's party to test a third-front pitch against both major blocs.

Overview

  • AIMIM published an initial slate of 32 assembly constituencies across 16 districts in Bihar, with candidate names to be announced later.
  • AIMIM’s Bihar chief Akhtarul Iman reaffirmed a plan to contest about 100 seats in the November election.
  • The list spans Seemanchal strongholds such as Kishanganj, Araria, Katihar and Purnea, as well as districts including Gaya, Bhagalpur, Siwan and Jamui.
  • Many of the targeted constituencies are currently held by the Mahagathbandhan, raising the prospect of shifts in opposition vote shares.
  • Iman said outreach to RJD leaders brought no response and that the party is talking to like‑minded groups, with voting on November 6 and 11 and counting on November 14.
