- AIIMS told the court it will replace its 300-bed Vishram Sadan with a 3,000-bed facility on about two acres at Ansari Nagar (West).
- Sevadaan Arogya Foundation has expressed willingness to develop the new rest house, which AIIMS said is expected to be completed in around two years.
- As an immediate step, AIIMS offered land to DUSIB for roughly 80 pagoda-style night shelters for patients’ attendants.
- DUSIB reported installing 20 pagodas near AIIMS and Safdarjung and 20 tents each near RML Hospital and Lady Hardinge Hospital, with more structures planned.
- Following the court’s direction to use subways for temporary relief, the AIIMS Metro subway is being managed as a shelter with on-site registration and outreach to move people into beds.
