AIIMS Jammu Marks One-Year Milestone with 2.6 Lakh Outpatients and Advanced Care Units

Innovative digital tools are guiding patients through its 43-building campus, streamlining care access.

Overview

  • During its first year, the institute admitted nearly 4,000 inpatients, managed over 15,000 emergency cases and performed more than 1,800 surgeries in eight modular operating theatres.
  • The diagnostic department conducted over 30,000 X-rays, 20,000 ultrasounds, 7,000 CT scans and 2,300 MRIs to support comprehensive patient care.
  • AIIMS Jammu completed its 43-building campus in a record three and a half years under the PMSSY initiative, earning national recognition and ongoing oversight from IIT Jammu.
  • Academic intake doubled from 50 to 100 MBBS seats and the institute launched BSc Nursing, MD/MS, MDS and MCh programmes while initiating more than 130 research projects.
  • Patient support innovations—including an indoor navigation app, Parikrama Seva e-carts, the Swasthya mobile app and Rogi Sahayak Mitra volunteers—have been rolled out across the campus.
