AIFF Invites Consulting Bids to Run Commercial Rights Tender Under Court Oversight

The step accelerates a Supreme Court–mandated process targeting an October 15 conclusion to give clubs clarity for a potential December ISL restart.

Overview

  • AIFF issued an RFQ to appoint a consulting firm to manage the award of its commercial rights, with bids due by September 14.
  • The RFQ requires at least five years of operations, an average turnover of Rs 100 crore over the last five years, and a minimum of five comparable assignments for three distinct clients.
  • A three‑member Bid Evaluation Committee led by former Supreme Court judge L. Nageswara Rao, with Kesavaran Murugasu and AIFF president Kalyan Chaubey, will oversee the process, and Justice Rao may appoint up to two professionals to assist.
  • The Super Cup is scheduled for October 25 to November 22 as an interim competition while the tender proceeds.
  • With the 15‑year FSDL agreement expiring in December 2025, FSDL has waived matching rights, issued a no‑objection for an open tender, paid the July–September fee, and the tender is intended to conclude by October 15, with any ISL restart in December subject to AFC approval.
