Overview

• Since launching its AI and Data Science BTech programme in 2017, AICTE plans to incorporate AI modules into engineering, information technology and management courses.
• The expert committee tasked with overhauling model curricula has already met three times and is set to deliver its report within a month.
• Officials aim to finalize updated model curricula within two months of receiving recommendations and launch AI-inclusive teaching next academic year.
• As part of its regional education drive, AICTE has published about 1,000 technical textbooks online in 12 Indian languages, drawing seven lakh downloads in two years.
• Fifty-four technical institutions nationwide currently offer courses in these 12 languages to broaden access and modernize instruction.
