Overview
- The General Council and Executive Committee adopted 16 resolutions that confirmed the party’s place in the NDA and an electoral tie-up with the BJP for 2026.
- Edappadi K. Palaniswami was officially named the chief ministerial candidate and was granted sole authority to finalise alliance partners and seat-sharing.
- The council stipulated that any decision on bringing back O. Panneerselvam or accommodating T. T. V. Dhinakaran within the NDA would rest with Palaniswami.
- Palaniswami projected a 210-seat win for the AIADMK-led front, citing a combined 41.33% vote share from the 2024 Lok Sabha tally and leads in 84 Assembly segments.
- Other resolutions pressed for Union approval of Coimbatore and Madurai metro projects, backed the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls, and escalated criticism of the DMK, which in turn ridiculed the BJP tie-up and the 210-seat claim.
