AI Scam Exploiting Brad Pitt's Likeness Defrauds French Woman of $850,000

A 53-year-old woman believed she was in a relationship with the actor after being targeted by scammers using AI-generated images and messages.

The victim, identified as Anne, was contacted in February 2023 by a scammer posing as Brad Pitt's mother, who claimed her son needed someone like her.
Scammers used AI-generated images, fake social media accounts, and messages to convince Anne she was in a romantic relationship with Pitt.
Anne transferred over $850,000, including her divorce settlement, after being told Pitt needed money for kidney cancer treatment due to frozen bank accounts from his divorce with Angelina Jolie.
The scam lasted over a year and a half, ending in mid-2024 when Anne realized she was deceived after seeing reports of Pitt's real-life relationship with Ines de Ramon.
The case has sparked a police investigation, while Anne has faced cyberbullying and mental health struggles, leading the TV network to withdraw her interview from circulation.
