Overview
- Ahold Delhaize said it identified a security issue and took some systems offline Monday to protect parts of its network.
- Websites and mobile apps for brands including Stop & Shop, Giant Food, Hannaford, Albert Heijn and Delhaize were unavailable, stopping online orders and deliveries.
- Employees reported losing access to schedules and pay stubs and internal notices warned some stores may be unable to stage or hand off online orders.
- The company said physical stores remain open and has not confirmed any data theft or a link to the weekend refrigeration attack or the November 2024 ransomware incident that exposed more than 2.2 million records.
- Ahold says teams are mitigating the issue, customers with unfulfilled online orders will be refunded, and forensic work and regulatory reporting are likely next steps if investigators find evidence of data exposure.
