Ahmedabad Traffic Cop Suspended After Video Shows Slap at Roadside Stop

Investigators have booked the motorist under the new penal code, with fresh clips under review.

  • Police registered a case related to the assault and also booked the woman under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita sections 281, 221, 296(b) and 351(1), and Motor Vehicles Act sections 177 and 184.
  • Authorities are examining additional videos, including clips suggesting prior confrontations, as MLA Jignesh Mevani publicly demanded an FIR and the officer’s arrest.
