Ahmedabad Trader Duped with Fake ₹500 Notes Featuring Actor Anupam Kher

Counterfeit currency scam involves ₹1.6 crore gold deal, police launch investigation to track suspects.

Bollywood actor Anupam Kher expressed shock after discovering his photo on counterfeit ₹500 notes used in a scam.
Ahmedabad trader Mehul Thakkar was duped of ₹1.6 crore worth of gold by two men using the fake notes.
The suspects handed over ₹1.3 crore in counterfeit currency and promised to pay the remaining ₹30 lakh later.
The fraud was discovered when Thakkar's employee, Bharat Joshi, noticed the fake notes after the suspects vanished.
Police are investigating the case using CCTV footage to identify and apprehend the culprits, who remain at large.
