Overview
- On August 17, Ahmedabad Rural SOG officers intercepted two men near Gibpura village on the Sarkhej–Sanand Highway and recovered 2.976 kg of ambergris
- The arrested suspects, 30-year-old Yogeshbhai Tulshibhai Makwana and 37-year-old Pantukumaar Bharatbhai Patel, were also found with two mobile phones and ₹700 in cash
- Forest officials and Forensic Science Laboratory experts authenticated the sperm whale–derived substance and estimated its international market value at about ₹2.97 crore
- During questioning, the duo implicated Bhavnagar resident Bharatbhai Vallabhbhai Sarvaiya as their supplier as authorities extend probes into the trafficking network
