Overview
- The provisional marker at Perlacher Forst has been replaced with a black natural stone in a traditional form.
- A triangular pediment carries the surname “Beckenbauer,” with Franz’s name and life dates inscribed below.
- A praying Madonna in a central niche was selected by his widow, Heidi, along with children Joel and Francesca.
- The stone also honors his parents, Franz (1905–1977) and Antonie (1913–2006), who are interred at the family grave.
- The installation comes shortly before his 80th birthday and follows tributes such as renaming the German Supercup to the Franz-Beckenbauer-Supercup.
