Overview

• Interinstitutional working sessions at the Interior Ministry brought together STC Metro, federal and state authorities, Mexico City officials, the Los Reyes La Paz municipality and the IMSS.
• STC director Adrián Rubalcava offered Metro’s technical studies to guide works that prevent service disruptions caused by seasonal flooding.
• Rubalcava urged a structural rehabilitation of Line A that addresses train operations and protects neighboring communities exposed to recurrent runoff.
• Participants agreed to strengthen rapid, coordinated responses among Conagua, the city’s water management agency, Civil Protection, the municipality and STC while major drainage and channelization projects are prepared.
• Authorities reported that rainwater entering the track box has damaged electrical and electronic systems and forced service suspensions at Los Reyes and La Paz, which serve about 62,000 daily users.
