Agencies Continue Investigation Into Geneva Motorcycle Crash

A Kane County reconstruction team is analyzing how the rider veered across lanes before officials release his identity

Overview

  • Passing motorists discovered the rider’s motorcycle off Fabyan Parkway early July 13 after it crossed eastbound lanes and struck an embankment
  • Emergency crews from Geneva Police, Kane County Sheriff’s Office and local fire departments responded and pronounced the 39-year-old Sycamore man dead at 6:58 a.m.
  • Fabyan Parkway between Wenmoth and Kaneville roads was closed for several hours before reopening to traffic later that morning
  • Geneva Police, the Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team and the Coroner’s Office are conducting a coordinated review of the crash scene to determine its cause
  • Officials are withholding the rider’s identity until his next-of-kin are formally notified
