AGD Secures Site for Buenos Aires’s First Peanut Processing Plant

Permits are being secured for power, logistics, waste treatment, workforce training ahead of operations planned for 2027.

Overview

  • Aceitera General Deheza has purchased and registered 90 hectares in Vedia, Leandro N. Alem, committing about $60 million to the processing facility.
  • The project is expected to create around 100 direct jobs and will be supported by a municipal industrial operator diploma under the Puentes program.
  • Permitting and infrastructure work is set to begin in 2025, including a dedicated power line from Junín and logistics upgrades near the Perkins station.
  • Production will target export markets via more than 300 truck movements to the Port of Buenos Aires and planned use of the ex–San Martín rail line.
  • The plant will integrate waste treatment and valorization systems based on AGD’s organic residue processing and bioethanol expertise.
