Overview
- Deputies say the shooting followed a fight between two dogs at Simpson Park in Hall County around 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
- The victim, 70-year-old Terry Wayne Loden of Gainesville, died at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, and his dog was also killed.
- Investigators report that Todd Alexander Stalcup, 52, shot Loden after the confrontation between the men escalated.
- Stalcup initially stayed at the scene, then left in an SUV and was arrested about 15 minutes later as he tried to leave the area.
- He is being held without bond in the Hall County Jail on charges of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
