After Bihar Poll Rout, Prashant Kishor Pledges Income and Assets, Launches Drive to Secure Rs 2 Lakh for Women

The Jan Suraaj leader set a January 15 start for a 15–18 month outreach focused on assisting beneficiaries under the state scheme.

Overview

  • Announcing the Bihar Navnirman Sankalp Abhiyan, Kishor said teams will visit every ward and household to help women complete forms to claim the remaining Rs 2 lakh.
  • Kishor pledged to donate at least 90% of his income for five years and to make available most assets acquired over two decades, retaining only one Delhi home.
  • He urged citizens to contribute Rs 1,000 annually to Jan Suraaj and said he would refuse meetings with those who do not donate.
  • He alleged large-scale vote buying through Rs 10,000 transfers and accused the newly formed Nitish Kumar cabinet of including corrupt or criminal figures, which are his claims.
  • The announcement followed a day-long silent fast at Bhitiharwa Gandhi Ashram and came after Jan Suraaj failed to win a seat and polled under 4% of the vote.
