• Ivory Coast, Senegal and South Africa won on the final matchday to complete Africa’s nine direct qualifiers alongside Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Algeria, Ghana and Cape Verde.
• Senegal beat Mauritania 4-0 in Dakar with a Sadio Mané brace, Ivory Coast defeated Kenya 3-0 in Abidjan through Franck Kessié, Yan Diomandé and Amad Diallo, and South Africa topped Rwanda 3-0 in Mbombela.
• South Africa finished first in Group C despite a recent three-point deduction, helped by Nigeria’s 4-0 win over Benin in Uyo where Victor Osimhen scored a hat-trick.
• Cameroon, DR Congo, Gabon and Nigeria will contest a single-elimination CAF playoff in Morocco (semi-finals 13 Nov, final 16 Nov), with the winner advancing to the March inter-confederation playoff.
• Ivory Coast completed qualifying unbeaten without conceding, Morocco posted a perfect record with 16 straight wins, and Algeria’s Mohammed Amoura finished as the top scorer on 10 goals.
