Overview
- Tasmania will receive seven first-round selections in its 2027 draft — Nos. 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11 and 13 — plus the first pick of each subsequent round, with Nos. 5, 7, 11 and 13 mandated for trade.
- The club also gains fixed picks No.5 and No.9 in each of the next two drafts on top of its natural selections, with both No.5s required to be traded and an allowance to roll and trade those picks within the following two drafts if needed.
- $5 million in sign-on bonuses sits outside the salary cap for the first two seasons, with a limit of $3 million in any single year.
- A two-year window allows recruitment of up to 18 uncontracted players from rival clubs at a maximum of one per club, with a new floating draft-pick compensation model for clubs that lose players.
- Tasmania receives broad pathway rights including mini-drafts, Academy and pre-list access, and a father–son rule tied to Tasmanian birth, plus flexible early list sizes up to 48, while the roofed stadium still requires parliamentary approval after a permit rejection.
