- The AfD-Kreisverband Potsdam has officially put forward Chaled-Uwe Said as its candidate for the Oberbürgermeisterwahl in Potsdam.
- The vote will take place in September or October 2025 following the recall of Mayor Mike Schubert in May.
- Said serves as the Fraktionsvorsitzender of the AfD in the Potsdam city council and has worked since March 2024 as a specialist consultant in the AfD state parliament’s economy, work and energy committee.
- In his campaign platform, he advocates for increased investment in street infrastructure and construction of a third Havel river crossing.
- He has also called for the termination of district heating services and declared that irregular migrants should no longer be provided with housing in the city.
