• In a separate incident, a 74-year-old AfD member assaulted the party's Kreisvorsitzender at a campaign booth in Rodalben on Saturday, following a verbal altercation.
• The 74-year-old, also an AfD member, faces charges of assault and defamation after striking the 64-year-old man in the stomach; the dispute is linked to prior internal party tensions.
