Overview
- An Insa survey conducted September 9–16 for MAZ, MOZ and Lausitzer Rundschau puts the AfD at 34% in Brandenburg, around five points above its 2024 election result.
- The SPD registers 24% in the poll, down roughly six to seven points from last year, while BSW sits at 9%, leaving the governing pair’s combined 33% just below the AfD alone.
- Other reported shares are CDU at 13%, Die Linke at 9%, Greens at 4% and both FDP and Freie Wähler at 2%, which would keep the latter three out of the Landtag under the 5% hurdle.
- In Dinslaken’s September 14 local election, the AfD won 15.43% and secured nine city council seats, becoming the third-strongest force as the 60-member council meets in early November.
- Leaders from the CDU, SPD, Greens, Linke and UBV in Dinslaken publicly ruled out working with the AfD, citing democratic concerns and the Verfassungsschutz classification of the party as “gesichert rechtsextrem.”
