Overview
- The Torneo Apertura 2026 will run from the weekend of January 25 to the weekend of April 26 under the same cup-style structure as 2025.
- Teams are split into two 15-club zones with 16 matchdays, two interzonal fixtures per club, and playoffs from the round of 16 to a neutral-site final.
- The AFA published groupings and opening fixtures, including Boca vs Deportivo Riestra, River vs Barracas Central, Estudiantes at Independiente, and Platense at Unión.
- The domestic program features eight national titles, including Apertura, Clausura, Copa Argentina, Trofeo de Campeones, Supercopa Argentina (Independiente Rivadavia vs Estudiantes), Supercopa Internacional (Rosario Central vs Estudiantes), and a Recopa involving Independiente Rivadavia, Estudiantes, and Rosario Central.
- After the World Cup break, the Clausura will be played and about a week after it ends the Trofeo de Campeones will be staged, while the Copa Argentina runs January to December and the Campeonato de Liga crowns the top annual points leader from regular phases.
