Overview
- The small monomotor went down near Posts 3 and 4 shortly after 12:30 p.m. local time on Dec. 27, and the pilot—the sole occupant—was recovered dead and taken to the medical examiner.
- Roughly 30 firefighters used jet skis, boats, divers, drones and sonar during more than two hours of search operations after witnesses said the aircraft sank quickly.
- CENIPA’s regional unit (SERIPA III) launched the initial phase of the aviation safety investigation, and police authorities are involved in parallel inquiries.
