  • The number of English local authorities with at least 33.3% adult obesity rose from 13 in 2018/19 to 44 in 2023/24, according to OHID-adjusted data.
  • West Lindsey (38.8%), Hartlepool (37.9%), and Bolsover (37.9%) have the highest adult obesity rates in the country.
  • Obesity prevalence is significantly higher in the Midlands, Yorkshire, and the North East, with all top 10 affected areas located in these regions.
