- ADP reported on Wednesday that private-sector employment rose by 90,000 in September, above economists' forecasts near 68,000 to 70,000 and up from a revised 36,000 in August.
- Job gains were concentrated in education and health services, which added 55,000 workers, with leisure and hospitality, manufacturing and construction also contributing.
