Overview
- ADOT will close westbound Loop 101 (Agua Fria) between I-17 and 51st Avenue from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday to allow widening crews to work without daytime traffic.
- Westbound Loop 202 (Santan) will be closed between Williams Field and Gilbert roads on the same overnight schedule to advance another widening segment.
- Northbound SR 51 will be narrowed to two lanes between Northern Avenue and Shea Boulevard from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for pavement improvements and the SR 51 on-ramp at Shea will be closed.
- All north- and southbound Loop 101 ramps to Loop 202 (Red Mountain) in Tempe will be closed from 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday with ADOT offering specific local detours such as Union Hills Drive, Bell Road, Higley/Germann roads, McKellips and Alma School.
- ADOT warns schedules may change for weather or other factors, urges drivers to allow extra travel time, check AZ511 for live updates, and notes a public Safety Message Contest running through Aug. 4 for messages to appear on dynamic freeway signs.
