ADOT Closes Sections of I-10, Loop 101 and Loop 202 for Weekend Construction
Overnight closures aim to accelerate interchange, widening and pavement work across the Valley.
Overview
- Eastbound Interstate 10 between 99th and 75th avenues will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for an interchange improvement, with the southbound Loop 101 ramp to eastbound I-10 and the Avondale Boulevard on-ramp also shut.
- Westbound Loop 101 (Agua Fria Freeway) will be closed between 51st and 75th avenues from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for a widening project, and several on-ramps and nearby I-17 ramps will be closed as part of the work.
- Eastbound Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) will be closed between Price Road and Arizona Avenue from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for widening, and southbound Loop 101 ramps to eastbound Loop 202 will be closed to traffic.
- Westbound Loop 202 Red Mountain ramps to both directions of Loop 101 in Tempe will be closed from 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for pavement improvements.
- Southbound State Route 51 will be narrowed to two lanes between Shea Boulevard and Northern Avenue from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday with right lanes and some southbound ramps closed at times, and drivers are urged to allow extra time, use posted detours or alternate freeways and check AZ511 for live updates because the work is staged over multiple weekends and may continue into the fall.
