Overview
- Adobe rolled out the unified plugin, which launched Thursday, August 6, 2026, on ChatGPT web and mobile as well as ChatGPT Work and Codex to replace its separate connectors.
- Users add the plugin from ChatGPT’s plugins directory and invoke it in chat by typing “@Adobe” or selecting it from the + menu to describe the output they want in plain language.
- The toolset spans more than 70 capabilities drawn from Photoshop, Firefly, Premiere, Express, Acrobat, Lightroom, Illustrator, InDesign, and Adobe Stock to build campaign assets, edit batches of photos, cut social reels, and format PDFs from data.
- All outputs are editable in the chat flow and can be exported into Adobe desktop apps for pixel-level edits, and signing in with an Adobe ID unlocks generative features, Creative Cloud file access, and saving across sessions while guest mode remains available.
- Adobe says additional integrations with Google’s Gemini and Slack will follow later in August and that it will ship new plugin features weekly, a distribution push that puts the company in closer competition with simpler design platforms.
