Adobe Introduces Firefly AI Assistant for Cross-App Creative Workflows

The move signals Adobe’s push to make a conversational agent the hub for creation across its apps.

Overview

  • Adobe said Wednesday, April 15, 2026 that Firefly AI Assistant lets users state a goal in plain language and have the agent run multi-step tasks across Photoshop, Premiere, Illustrator, Lightroom, Express and Firefly, with a public beta set for the coming weeks.
  • The assistant preserves project context across sessions and carries it into native app files so work stays editable, giving creators simple controls to pause, adjust and approve changes at any point.
  • A library of prebuilt Creative Skills and user-made skills will bundle repeatable flows into one command, and the system can learn preferred tools and visual style to keep results consistent over time.
  • For team reviews, the agent ties into Frame.io to package work, collect comments, and convert feedback into applied edits using the appropriate Adobe tools.
  • Firefly also gains new tools now available to plan customers, including Enhance Speech for cleaner dialogue, expanded color controls, Adobe Stock access in Video Editor, Precision Flow and AI Markup for images, plus support for 30+ partner AI models such as Anthropic’s Claude, Kling 3.0 and Google’s Nano Banana 2.
