Adobe Brings Premiere to iPhone as Free App With Pro Editing and Firefly AI

Pre-orders start now ahead of a September 30 release.

Overview

  • The iPhone app is listed on the App Store for pre-order and will launch on September 30 as a free, ad-free, watermark-free download.
  • Core tools include a familiar multi-track timeline with unlimited video, audio, and text layers, automatic captions, 4K HDR support, and one-tap exports to TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Instagram with auto-resizing.
  • Firefly generative AI is built in to create images, audio, video assets, sound effects, and enhanced voiceovers from prompts, with usage drawing from paid AI credits.
  • Projects can start on iPhone and be handed off to Premiere Pro on desktop, and Premiere Rush will be removed from the App Store on September 30 with existing users able to continue using it until September 30, 2026.
  • Monetization comes via in-app purchases for AI credits and extra cloud storage, with App Store listings showing example prices such as $7.99 per month or $69.99 per year; an Android version is in development with no release date.
