Adobe Brings Firefly AI Assistants to Core Creative Cloud Apps

The company says the app-specific agents will remove repetitive setup and organization tasks, leaving final creative choices with human users.

Overview

  • Adobe launched a public beta on Thursday, June 18, 2026, that embeds bespoke Firefly AI assistants into Photoshop, Premiere, Illustrator, InDesign, and Frame.io.
  • The assistants act as specialists inside each app and can run native tools to automate tasks such as sorting assets, batch-renaming clips, adding timeline markers from speech, reorganizing layers, and running preflight checks.
  • Adobe rolled out two Firefly features in private beta called Elements and Projects that let users save reusable characters, objects and project context to keep visual continuity across images and video.
  • Firefly’s Create Skills library gained pre-built agentic workflows including a brand kit creator, Quick Cut for first cuts, storyboards, and short product-reel generation to speed social and marketing output.
  • Adobe has already integrated the agents with ChatGPT, Claude, and Microsoft Copilot with Google Gemini coming soon, and it stresses a staged rollout with After Effects remaining in private beta to preserve human oversight.
