Adobe Adds Firefly AI Assistants to Core Creative Cloud Apps

The company says the agents will remove repetitive production work so creators can spend more time on creative decisions.

Overview

  • Adobe launched public beta versions of Firefly-powered AI Assistants inside Photoshop, Premiere, Illustrator, InDesign and Frame.io on Thursday, June 18, 2026.
  • Each assistant runs inside an app sidebar and performs multi-step, native tasks such as sorting and batch-renaming clips in Premiere, reorganizing layers or swapping backgrounds in Photoshop, and running preflight checks in Illustrator.
  • Adobe previewed a reworked Firefly studio that is in private beta and adds Elements, which saves reusable character and object references, plus Projects, which keeps assets and generations and project context together.
  • Firefly is already accessible through ChatGPT, Claude and Microsoft Copilot with Google Gemini and Slack integrations announced as coming soon, and After Effects’ assistant remains in private beta.
  • Adobe frames the tools as co‑workers that save time on tedious setup and batch work but notes the features are rolling out in demos and betas so real-world performance and adoption will need to be proven.
