Overview
- Uttar Pradesh Day will run January 24–26 with the main state event at Rashtriya Prerna Sthal in Lucknow and parallel programmes across all districts and at Noida Shilpgram.
- Celebrations will also be staged in other Indian states and countries with large UP communities, with dignitaries invited and 3–5 notable diaspora contributors to be honoured in each host location.
- Cultural line-ups will feature theatrical and musical tributes tied to national icons such as Sardar Patel, Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Birsa Munda, with institutions including Bhatkhande, Sangeet Natak Akademi and Lalit Kala Akademi involved.
- A tiered contest track from block to district to divisional levels will feed performers into the state programme, which will also felicitate Uttar Pradesh Gaurav Samman awardees, ODOP beneficiaries, Vishwakarma Shram Samman recipients and other achievers.
- Ahead of the festivities, Civil Defence will hold district mock drills on January 23 and Magh Mela arrangements in Prayagraj from January 3 will include CCTV monitoring, ample parking and toilets, mandatory life jackets for boatmen and checks against adulteration.
